Creators (signed-in users)

• ·Google display name, email address, and profile photo — to identify your account and display your name in the app.
• ·Google user ID — to link your photos and galleries to your account.
• ·Photo files (originals and thumbnails) — stored so your poll can be displayed to voters.
• ·Gallery metadata: title, creation timestamp, share link ID.
• ·Vote counts per photo — aggregate totals only, not who voted.
• ·Daily vote submissions — if you use the "Submit for Daily Vote" feature, your submitted photos and user ID are stored for admin review. Submissions that are not selected are retained briefly then deleted.

Voters (no account required)

• ·A one-way hash of your IP address (first 16 characters of SHA-256) — used only to detect duplicate votes and prevent abuse. We never store your raw IP address and cannot reverse the hash to identify you.
• ·A browser session ID stored in local storage — used alongside the hashed IP for duplicate vote prevention.
• ·Vote data: which photo was voted on and a timestamp.
• ·If you report a photo: the reason you selected, and a hashed IP.

• ·Photos are stored in Google Firebase Storage, EU region (London, europe-west2).
• ·They are stored under your user ID — this makes them easy to locate and permanently delete.
• ·A thumbnail (max 800px wide, JPEG quality 82) is generated at upload time for faster page loads. The original file is also retained.
• ·Photos are only accessible via the unique share link you create. They are not indexed, listed publicly, or searchable.
• ·We never use your photos for advertising, AI/ML model training, product improvement, or any purpose other than displaying your poll.
• ·Every photo is scanned at upload time by Google Cloud Vision API to detect prohibited content (see the content rules in our Terms of Use). This is automated safety moderation only — no human reviews your photos unless they are reported.
• ·We do not run facial recognition or extract EXIF metadata for any purpose.
• ·EXIF metadata (which may include GPS location, device model, etc.) is not automatically stripped. If this matters to you, remove it before uploading.

You are responsible for who you share the poll link with. Once you share a link, anyone with that link can view and vote on your photos. Do not share links with people you would not want to see your photos.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics and advertising cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser and mirrored to Google Consent Mode v2, so Google's tags respect it. Until you answer, and if you choose "Essential only", no analytics or advertising cookies are set.

Essential (always on)

• ·A voter identity value that keeps voting honest (one vote per person). It contains a random identifier only and is never used for tracking or advertising.
• ·Your cookie-banner choice itself, stored in local storage so we do not ask again.

Optional (only after you choose "Accept all")

• ·Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to measure how the site is used.
• ·Google AdSense, a third-party vendor, sets cookies to serve and measure ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. You can read how Google uses ad cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of some other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.

Snap Choice uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

• ·Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions) — stores all user data and photos. Data is hosted in europe-west2 (London). Google Privacy Policy applies.
• ·Google Cloud Vision API — scans every uploaded photo for prohibited content at upload time. Photos are sent to Google's servers for analysis and are not retained by Google beyond the request.
• ·Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0) — used for creator authentication. We receive only your public profile and email.
• ·Google reCAPTCHA v3 (Firebase App Check) — verifies that requests come from the real app to block bots and vote manipulation. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• ·Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, session duration, device type) to help us understand how the service is used. Only loads if you accept optional cookies.
• ·Google AdSense — serves advertisements on some pages, only if you accept optional cookies. See "Cookies and consent" above for how ad cookies work and how to opt out.

No data is sold, rented, or shared with any third party for commercial purposes beyond the services listed above.

• ·Creator account data and photos: retained until you delete your gallery or account.
• ·Vote records: retained until the associated gallery is deleted.
• ·Hashed IP and session data: retained alongside the vote record.
• ·Deleted data: permanently erased from storage and database immediately upon deletion — no archival copies.
• ·Inactive accounts: we may delete accounts with no galleries and no login activity after 24 months.

If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the following rights under UK GDPR / GDPR.

• ·Right of access — view all your galleries and associated data on the My Galleries page.
• ·Right to erasure — use "Delete Account" on the My Galleries page. This permanently and immediately deletes your account, all photos (originals and thumbnails), all vote records for your galleries, and your authentication credentials.
• ·Right to portability — your photos are standard JPEG files. Download them from your gallery before deletion.
• ·Right to correction — contact us to correct inaccurate data.
• ·Right to object — contact us to object to any processing.

Snap Choice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
